The French list is good but i'd advise not having Heavy Cavalry and maybe have a few conscript Line battalions to bulk your force up.

It's also good to have some Infantry geared towards combat with grenadiers and light infantry and other for sitting back with artillery
but having a Battalion being self efficient is very useful

Some of the choices are cheaper, some more expensive but theirs more of a coflict between units now competing for you to include in your army.
But you can now have diffrent quality of Line troops to reflect armies of the periods situation and allow you to have a bigger force but not nessaserily a better one.
Some expendable troops basically.

Sorry to ask,but could you post a good well-rounded 1500pt French list? I feel like my list is lacking something and I'd like to see what a Veteran's list looks like. Very Happy

But your list if you don't like the concept of lots of infantry to do would be good if you moved the attached artillery else where. and leave them for assault only

I've found Light Cavalry aren't useful at dealing with squares ( which they shouldn't be) but can make people form sqaure or face being run down so your guns can deal with them so i keep them out of harms way as they are frail.

But infantry are the dogs b*****ks in thsi game but in bigger forces Cav and Artillery become more useful as you can have them in bulk.

Artillery is the main focus of the shooting phase Muskets aren't that effective unless you have good dic rolls or lots of shots.

I like the french lists.....I had a question about the number of companies available for the French battalions. I was doing a bit of research and found that French companies typically has six total companies after 1809.....4 fusilier 1 grenadier, and 1 voltigeur. Any ideas about this....thoughts? I like the idea of having a fourth companie available for the french list as the prussians do.....Just a thought! I am excited about FOW napoleonics.
