Yeah, sorry, I realised that a little more after my post, well we should start a pole up and whatever wins, we should use so we can get these rules moving along!

Sadly this in no way accounts for the varying sizes in companies between the different armies. If you follow this mindset, those nations with six company battalions would always have an advantage over those who fielded battalions with only four companies. Even when the average battalion size was generally the same.
It also shorts the armies that had larger companies over those with smaller ones that still had the same number of companies in each battalion. Prussians and Russians fielded four co battalions, but the Prussians were usually at least 80 men stronger per company than the Russians. Same for the Austrians who fielded six companies just like the French, but whose battalions often took the field at nearly twice the size of their opponents. |
