Hello everyone! I'm brand new to Napoleonics and I wanted to make two starter lists so I can learn the game,paint 'em up and eventually go and demo the game at my local store to try and get people interested.

French-750pts

HQ

Brigadier General and adjutant-100pts

Core Battalions

Infantry Battalion with two companies and one company of light infantry-175

Infantry Battalion with three companies-130

Elite Battalions

Light Cavalry Company with two squadrons-150

Light Artillery Battery with four guns-150

Total=755

Austrian-750pts

HQ

Brigadier General and adjutant-60

Core Battalions

Infantry Battalion with four companies and light company-210

Infantry Battalion with four companies and light company-210

Elite Battalions

Light Artillery Battery with four guns-150

Division Support

Light Cavalry Company with two squadrons-135

Total=765

Are these good demo lists? They have a little bit of everything.What do you think?

750 doesn't really allow you to get too much but i think 1 unit of cav should be enough.

At Cheltenham Warchiefs we play 1500 + games take a few hrs but very good

Yea, they are pretty small lists but I just want to try the rules out and once I play a few games I'll expand to bigger point sizes. Very Happy

Well I've decided that I'll probably demo smaller point sizes so I can get the demos going ASAP.

Here's two smaller lists:

French List

Brigadier General and adjutant-100

Line Battalion with two companies-100

Light Cavalry Company with two squadrons-100

Total-300

Austrian List

Brigadier General and adjutant-50

Line Battalion with three companies and attached light company-160

Light Infantry Battalion with two companies-100

Total=310

Here's new lists using the minis that I've ordered.

French List

Brigadier General and adjutant-100

Line Battalion with three companies and attached 1/2 battery of artillery-215

Line Battalion with three companies-130

Light Cavalry Company with two squadrons-100

Full Light Artillery Battery-125

Total-670

Austrian List

Brigadier General and adjutant-50

Line Battalion with four companies and attached light company-210

Line Battalion with four companies and attached 1/2 battery of light artillery-205

Light cavalry company with two squadrons-85

Full Light Artillery Battery-125

Total=675

What do you guys think? Are they good demo lists? I don't want one to be more powerful than the other.

I'd probably add a cavarly unit to the Austrian list instead of either the attached light infantry or light infantry battalion depending which you'd prefer to loose
