Hi Guys,
1/2 rate for movement backwards?
I'm a bit concerned at infantry in column and line move at the same rate.
Column was used on the battlefield as an offensive weapon for delivering powerful charges, therefore they should be able to outdistance line infatry. Otherwise I would never sue them.
The idea of allowing columns to march is a good one, however with the casualty penalty (doubling) I can't see anyone using it much.
2 options:
1. Allow infatry columns to move 8"
2. Allow any formation incolumn to move 1.5 as far
I would certainly agree that units in line should move slower than units in column.
I think the march issue isn't so much a concern considering how much less firepower there is and how much shorter the ranges are as opposed to the WWII counterpart - especially if the long range band/infantry range is reduced to 12" only.
