What would A regiment look like in the Napolianic Period 1805-1812?

Ah...now that is one big question! It really depends on the country..
BUT, lets just average everyone out, and a normal infantry regiment would be:
One Battalion-
-Between four and eight companies of Line Infantry
-One Grenadier Company
-One other company that would act as skirmishers in times of need
Another Battalion...same organization as above
Now, the tactical unit in the Napoleonic times was the battalion, just as in FoW WWII, it is the platoon. |
